yess mounts vs. rims mounts

Actually, I really like the ISS mounts too. I think they're a nice, low profile solution that actually has less contact than RIMS to the drum. I think they're the closest to holding the drum up with your hand and hitting it. The RIMS mounts have more shell contact. I have them on my other set, and I actually think the ISS mount is a better design.

Good posts..On the most recent kit that I've built,I chose the RIMS mounts only because I didn't want anything going into the shell. On the Maple Custom's the lugs are too close to the edge of the drum..making RIMS mounts virtually impossible. Sure,you can cut the rubber sleeves to squeeze in,but why? There are other alternatives like 5/8 said. I'm just thinking that you might have a problem trying to mount them on RIMS. Good luck....
